PAGCOR Plans To Launch Worldwide Virtual Reality Casino In 2024

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has announced that they intend to launch a worldwide virtual reality (VR) online casino in 2024.

When speaking at the SiGMA Asia Summit 2023, PAGCOR Chairperson and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco told attendees that they are working on launching a VR casino under the Casino Filipino brand. The new online casino will use VR technology to create a realistic gaming experience.

“It will allow players to interact with the digital counterparts of traditional casino games. It will also transcend physical boundaries and enable users worldwide to interact and participate in virtual environments. It can reach a global audience and establish a presence in virtual communities of avid gamers. It will likewise offer an opportunity to tap into new markets and diversify its customer base.”

Tengco also stated that the new casino would increase the country’s gambling revenue, extend its global brand, and enhance the customer experience. Casino Filipino VR casino is set to launch in 2024, but there is yet to be a definite timetable for when the casino will go live.

Online Casinos In The Philippines

There are two forms of legal online casinos in the Philippines, those that operate from outside the country and those that PAGCOR regulates. PAGCOR online casinos are not allowed to offer their online games to Philippines residents but can accept bettors from outside the country.

Legal online casinos operating outside the country can accept casino bets, sports bets, and poker bets from Philippine nationals if a trusted gaming regulator licenses them. Philippine gambling laws do not outlaw online casinos but place strict restrictions on what can be operated from inside of the country.

Popular Online Casino Games In The Philippines

Casino chip stackFilipinos like various online casino games, including online baccarat, roulette, blackjack, Pia Gow poker, and other specialty games. Online casino games operate with virtual dealers powered by random number generators (rng). RNG-powered casinos allow sites to work on a world scale and provide games at a fraction of the price of their domestic counterparts.

While PAGCOR regulates domestic casinos for tourism, they also regulate online casinos with their Philippine Offshore Gambling Operators (POGO) license. It is still being determined whether the new VR casino will be allowed to offer its experience to Philippine residents. However, under the current structure, the site will unlikely be accessible in the Philippines.
