A few weeks back, we reported that the Okada Casino in Manila’s Entertainment district filed charges against former Universal Entertainment chairman and CEO Kazuo Okada for his casino takeover heist in May 2022. Now it seems he has been arrested for his actions but is already out of jail and awaiting a court date.
On Tuesday, Okada gave a statement saying he wouldn’t back down to intimidation and would not back off from the legal battle. He went on to say that this “legal” fight is not over.
Okada also said he wants to show the Filipino people he is not afraid and that he came back from Japan to face the charges and the legal battle ensuing.
Casino Takeover (May 31st, 2022)
On May 31st, 2022, Kazou Okada entered the casino with a Supreme Court order that legally put him back on the chair of Universal Entertainment. He came in with a team and overtook operations of the multi-billion-dollar casino without approval from Universal Entertainment.
It was eventually ruled that the Supreme Court order did not justify his actions and that he had to give control back to Universal Entertainment and the board of directors. The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) oversaw the issue along with the Philippine Department of Justice.
Does Okada Casino Offer Online Gambling?
No, domestic casinos in the Philippines are not allowed to offer online gambling services to the Philippines; however, there are legal online Philippine casinos offered from offshore casinos. While these casinos are not technically located in the Philippines, they are breaking no laws by providing their services to Philippine residents.
Popular online casinos offer mobile PH casino games like you would find in traditional casinos. The most popular games include table games such as blackjack, roulette, and craps and other casino games such as slots, bingo, and video poker.
